Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid Market Stable as Sulfuric Acid Costs Bite

China's anhydrous hydrofluoric acid prices held flat in the week to Oct. 22, 2026, with East China at 14,500-14,800 yuan/mt, as rising sulfuric acid costs forced some HF plants to cut operating rates while downstream demand stayed weak.

Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid Market Stable as Sulfuric Acid Costs Bite

China's domestic anhydrous hydrofluoric acid market maintained a strong wait-and-see stance in the week to Oct. 22, 2026, with regional trends diverging, according to ChemPriceHub. Prices were unchanged week-on-week: South China at 14,500 yuan/mt, Shandong at 14,760 yuan/mt, Jiangsu at 14,700 yuan/mt and Zhejiang at 14,500 yuan/mt.

Earlier spot inquiries and transactions had pushed the market center higher but did not offset declining demand, cooling market sentiment. On the raw material side, sulfuric acid prices continued rising, particularly in Jiangxi and Fujian provinces, where tiers increased progressively and supply tightened; some HF plants reduced operating loads due to cost pressure. Northern major producers had not announced clear restart timelines.

Downstream demand remains weak, with the limited boost from improved exports insufficient to offset low order volumes. Mainstream delivered prices in East China were 14,500-14,800 yuan/mt, while Shandong delivered prices were 14,760-15,000 yuan/mt.

In the fluorite market, supply-demand tension intensified in the domestic 97% concentrate market with subdued trading. Spot delivered fluorite prices ranged from 3,300 yuan/mt in Inner Mongolia to 3,700-3,750 yuan/mt in Jiangxi and Fujian. Domestic sulfuric acid averaged 1,380 yuan/mt, with maintenance in East and Central China tightening local supply.
