Arkema Inaugurates Energy-Efficient Acrylic Acid Purification Unit in Carling

Arkema inaugurated a new acrylic acid purification unit at its Carling site in France on 8 October 2026.

The company said the new unit improves the energy efficiency of the purification process by 25 percent and reduces the carbon intensity of the site's operations by 20 percent.

Arkema said the site's production technology also helps optimise resource and waste management while significantly reducing solvent consumption.

The investment supports Arkema's acrylic acid chain serving coatings, adhesives, superabsorbents and other applications.

The project is part of the company's broader effort to lower the environmental footprint of its French production base.
