BioBTX and Rain Carbon sanction circular aromatics plant in Delfzijl

BioBTX and Rain Carbon have formed a strategic collaboration to convert circular aromatic oil from the Delfzijl plant in the Netherlands into benzene, phthalic anhydride and other derivatives that meet fossil-based quality standards.

The PETRA Circular Aromatics Plant reached final investment decision during the week. The project represents a step forward in circular economy investments within the chemical sector, producing renewable aromatics from circular feedstocks.

The collaboration combines BioBTX's technology with Rain Carbon's expertise in carbon-based materials and derivatives, targeting markets that require high-purity aromatic compounds.
