Bohai Chemical (600800.SH) announced on the evening of June 17, 2026, that the 160,000-ton-per-year acrylic acid plant, part of its fundraising project for acrylate and superabsorbent polymer new materials, achieved successful first-time feedstock introduction on June 16. The one-time trial run was fully successful, producing qualified premium-grade products with stable plant operations and all indicators meeting standards.
The project is implemented by subsidiary Tianjin Bohai Petrochemical Co., Ltd., with funding of approximately 682 million yuan from the remaining proceeds of the company previously changed fundraising project. The investment plan was approved at the company extraordinary shareholders meeting on August 27 and September 12, 2024.
The startup of the 160,000-ton acrylic acid plant marks the company formal entry into a new stage of high-end new materials integration, breaking away from a single-product structure and enhancing core competitiveness. Upon full production, the project will help fill regional new materials industry gaps and activate upstream and downstream industry momentum.
