China's cumulative bisphenol A production loss volume fell 7.14% year-on-year to 338,200 tonnes in January-July 2026, according to OilChem data. The decline occurred even as 480,000 tonnes per year of new capacity from PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical and Shandong Ruilin Polymer Materials came on stream.

The production loss figure reflects the impact of maintenance turnarounds, unplanned outages and idled capacity. The August turnaround wave, with approximately 1.8 million tonnes per year offline, represented a significant concentration of maintenance activity that could tighten supply in the near term.
