Domestic and international refined oil product price spreads fluctuated during the week as crude oil prices rose on geopolitical supply risks. Brent and WTI crude prices increased sharply week-on-week, with Brent reaching $109.86 per barrel and WTI $101.41 per barrel as of Oct. 16. The higher crude costs affected refining margins and product price spreads. The base chemicals index fell 7% for the week, underperforming the broader market.
