China Sulfuric Acid Price Surge Lifts Hengguang to Q1-Q3 Profit

Hengguang Technology swung to a net profit of 78.53 million yuan in the first nine months of 2026 on revenue of 1.329 billion yuan, up 19.85%, helped by sustained high sulfuric acid prices. It also plans a 110 million yuan fumed silica project.

China Sulfuric Acid Price Surge Lifts Hengguang to Q1-Q3 Profit

Hunan Hengguang Technology reported first-three-quarter 2026 revenue of about 1.329 billion yuan, up 19.85% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of about 78.53 million yuan, swinging from a loss a year earlier, according to its quarterly report released Oct. 21, 2026.

The company said it benefited from persistently high sulfuric acid prices. On the demand side, phosphatic fertilizer, hydrometallurgy, lithium battery recycling and water treatment demand recovered, lifting sulfuric acid consumption; on the supply side, domestic sulfur output growth was limited, imported sulfur volumes fell while prices rose, and port inventories stayed low.

Hengguang uses pyrite and sulfur-bearing tailings routes for sulfuric acid, with raw materials procured externally from diversified channels, so its blended cost is less exposed to any single feedstock price and sits at a clear discount to market prices.

On the same day, Hengguang announced a planned investment of up to 110 million yuan in a 10,000 mt/y fumed silica (nano-silica) project through subsidiary Hunan Hengyao New Materials, consisting of two 5,000 mt/y lines with a two-year construction period. The project would use the company's existing trichlorosilane, silicon tetrachloride and hydrogen as feedstock, release trichlorosilane capacity, help resolve chlorine-alkali balance and consume byproduct hydrochloric acid.
