Chiyoda has been awarded the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for a CO2 liquefaction project in Matsuura, Japan, developed by J-POWER and Kyushu Electric. The project involves capturing and liquefying CO2 for transport and storage.
CO2 liquefaction is a key step in carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chains, enabling efficient transport of captured CO2 by ship or truck to storage sites. Japan has been advancing CCS projects as part of its decarbonization strategy.
The Matsuura project is part of a broader portfolio of CCS and low-carbon projects being developed in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.
