Huntsman Corporation announced on June 5, 2026, the sale of its Gomet business, located in Azeglio, Italy, to Trelleborg Group for a purchase price of 42.5 million euros (approximately $50 million).
The Gomet business primarily produces molded rubber and thermoplastic automotive aftermarket components. The divestiture is part of Huntsman ongoing portfolio optimization efforts. The transaction follows Huntsman previously announced merger of equals with Olin Corporation, which was announced on June 16, 2026.
The sale reflects a broader trend among global chemical companies to divest non-core assets and concentrate resources on higher-growth, higher-margin businesses. Huntsman has been streamlining its portfolio to focus on its core polyurethane and performance products segments.
