Trade union IG BCE called for future prospects for Evonik employees and investment commitments for the companyu2019s sites amid BASFu2019s potential takeover. The unionu2019s call came as the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament debated the takeover at the request of the SPD. BASF has said it would commit to preserving Evoniku2019s German site and employment guarantees in any takeover, ruling out compulsory redundancies in Germany until 2032 and requiring any job cuts to be voluntary with severance pay.
