Several international chemical producers have announced polyurethane price increases covering multiple regions. BASF raised Lupranate MDI basic products and TDI prices by $250/mt in ASEAN and South Asian countries from Sept. 11, 2026, citing higher raw material, transport and energy costs.
From Sept. 14, 2026, Wanhua Chemical raised prices in Southeast Asia and South Asia: MDI by $300/mt, TDI by $300/mt and polyether polyol by $400/mt, to hedge rising raw material, energy and supply chain costs.
From Oct. 1, 2026, or as per contract, Huntsman raised all MDI products in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI) by €285/mt, citing continued increases in MDI manufacturing costs.
Dow Europe had announced on Aug. 26, 2026 increases in EMEAI: all polyols by €250/mt, all MDI and MDI-based products by €200/mt and all polyurethane systems by €150/mt, citing higher energy, raw material and logistics costs.
Industry analysis said the successive increases point to a firm global MDI and TDI market, with the price trend still needing to be tracked.
