Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has successfully completed the acquisition of Synthomer a.s. from Synthomer plc in a carve-out transaction. Synthomer a.s. is a leading European producer and supplier of high-quality acrylic solutions, including acrylic acids and acrylic esters.
The business generated revenues of approximately €110 million on a carve-out basis in 2025 and employed around 300 people. The company benefits from an integrated product portfolio and a flexible production setup enabling dynamic optimization of product mix and margins.
The acquisition represents a strategic platform investment for Mutares' Chemicals & Materials segment. Mutares focuses on acquiring businesses with significant operational improvement potential from special situations.
