The duration of pending turnarounds at Nan Ya Plastics (Ningbo)'s 170,000 tonnes per year and Shandong Ruilin Polymer Materials' 240,000 tonnes per year bisphenol A units remained uncertain in late August 2026, according to OilChem data.
The restart timing of these units, along with Huizhou Zhongxin Chemical's unplanned shutdown of its 240,000 tonnes per year Phase II unit on August 19, will determine the extent of near-term supply tightness in the Chinese BPA market. The ramp-up pace of new capacity from PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical and Shandong Ruilin is a countervailing factor.
