Nextchem will assess its NX Replast technology for a 40,000 tonne per year mechanical upcycling plant in Turkey, according to a weekly industry roundup. The project is part of a broader wave of circular materials investments across Europe.
The plant would convert plastic waste into recycled feedstock, responding to regulatory pressure and brand owner commitments for recycled content in packaging. Mechanical upcycling is generally more energy-efficient than chemical recycling but is limited by feedstock quality and sorting infrastructure.
