North Rhine-Westphalia Economics Minister Mona Neubaur said the state government was looking very seriously at the debate over Evoniku2019s future because Evonik is an important part of NRWu2019s industrial base. u201cMore than 11,000 employees work for Evonik in NRW. Behind them are trainees, families, suppliers, craft businesses and entire regional value chains,u201d she said. She said Evoniku2019s jobs and independent development must not be called into question and that the state government wants industrial value creation, skilled employment and key corporate functions to remain in NRW. u201cWe as the state government are clear: We want the employees to stay. We stand behind this location, and it is therefore clear that we oppose this takeover.u201d
