The merger of equals between Olin Corporation and Huntsman Corporation is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to receipt of required regulatory approvals and satisfaction or waiver of other customary closing conditions, according to SEC filings. Shareholders of both companies approved the transaction on August 25, 2026.
The combined company will be named OlinHuntsman. The transaction combines two major North American chemical producers at a time of margin pressure and overcapacity in several commodity chemical chains. Regulatory review in the United States and other jurisdictions will be required before closing.
