Oxea announced price increases for a broad portfolio of oxo intermediates in Europe, effective Oct. 1, 2026, or as existing customer contracts permit. The company cited persistent increases in raw material, energy and supply chain costs alongside prevailing supply-demand conditions.
2-Ethylhexanol will rise by €70 per metric ton in Europe, the largest increase among the listed products. n-Butanol and isobutanol will each increase by €60/mt, while n-butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate, n-propanol and n-propyl acetate will each rise by €50/mt.
Neopentyl glycol will increase by €80/mt for molten-grade material and €60/mt for 90% slurry-grade NPG. For the rest of the world, 2-EH will rise by $80/mt, n-butanol and isobutanol by $70/mt each, and n-butyl acetate by $60/mt. In North America and Mexico, 2-EH will increase by $0.035 per pound.
The regional differences indicate Oxea is aligning pricing with individual market conditions rather than applying a uniform global increase. 2-Ethylhexanol is a key feedstock for plasticizer production, while butanols and propanol derivatives are widely used as solvents and chemical intermediates.
Higher input costs could affect formulation economics across coatings, adhesives, paints, inks and specialty chemical applications. The Oct. 1 effective date makes inventory planning and contract negotiations particularly relevant for procurement teams.
