BASF raised prices for Lupranate MDI base products and Lupranate TDI in ASEAN and South Asian countries by $250/t, effective Sept. 11, 2026. BASF cited continued increases in raw material, transport and energy costs.
Wanhua Chemical raised polyurethane prices in Southeast and South Asia from Sept. 14. MDI and TDI each rose $300/t, while polyether polyol rose $400/t. Wanhua's BorsodChem unit also raised all MDI, TDI and polyol prices in Europe by EUR 300/t.
Huntsman raised all MDI products in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India by EUR 285/t, effective Oct. 1, 2026, or as contracts allow. Huntsman cited rising MDI manufacturing costs after earlier natural gas surcharges and a July increase.
Dow Europe had announced increases effective late August, with all polyols up EUR 250/t, all MDI and MDI-based products up EUR 200/t, and all polyurethane systems up EUR 150/t, citing energy, raw material and logistics costs.
Industry analysts expect firm MDI and TDI markets to continue while cost pressure persists. China-based capacity holds a cost advantage as European gas prices remain elevated.
