The agreement was signed in Copenhagen on October 20, 2026 during the Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum, part of the state visit to Denmark, witnessed by King Frederik X and Vietnam's top leadership.
The partnership builds on more than two decades of cooperation dating from construction of the Phu My Fertiliser Plant, for which Haldor Topsoe supplied the ammonia technology licence.
The Phu My plant has set a record of 678 consecutive operating days for its ammonia unit and received three Topsoe Operational Excellence certifications.
Under the new agreement, the two sides will study advanced gas treatment technologies, energy recovery, resource efficiency and emissions reduction, and assess low-carbon ammonia, green hydrogen and new energy derivatives.
They will also continue technical exchanges to optimise operations and build high-technology engineering capability, supporting product diversification and a green growth transition.
