Shanghai Sinopec Gaoqiao Chemical Materials restarted its 120,000 tonnes per year bisphenol A unit on August 19, 2026, after being offline since May 15, according to OilChem data. The restart partially offset the supply lost from other units entering maintenance during August.
The unit is part of Sinopec's downstream derivatives portfolio in Shanghai. The extended shutdown from May to August reflected weak BPA economics and scheduled maintenance.
