SkyNRG has selected Technip Energies, Sasol and Topsoe to perform front-end engineering design (FEED) for its Project Wigeon sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility in Walla Walla. The project will produce SAF from renewable feedstocks.
The selection of three technology and engineering partners reflects the complexity of SAF projects, which require integration of feedstock pretreatment, conversion and product upgrading. Technip Energies brings engineering and project management expertise, while Sasol and Topsoe provide proprietary conversion technologies.
SAF demand is being driven by aviation decarbonization mandates in Europe and North America, prompting a wave of project announcements and FEED awards.
