SOCAR, TotalEnergies and XRG have reached final investment decision on the Absheron full field development in Azerbaijan. The project advances natural gas production from the Absheron field in the Caspian Sea.
Natural gas from Absheron is expected to supply both domestic demand and export markets. The development adds to Azerbaijan's role as a gas supplier to Europe and regional markets.
The FID comes amid continued interest in Caspian gas resources as European buyers seek diversified supply sources.
