Technip Energies has agreed to license SABIC's CTR low-density polyethylene (LDPE) technology worldwide. The agreement adds the technology to Technip Energies' portfolio of licensed petrochemical processes.
The CTR technology is used to produce LDPE for packaging, film and other applications. Licensing proprietary technologies allows engineering firms to capture value from process innovation and provides producers with access to differentiated production routes.
The agreement reflects continued demand for LDPE capacity in Asia and the Middle East, where new petrochemical complexes are being developed.
