Topsoe will supply kerosene hydrotreating technology for BPCL's sustainable aviation fuel project at its Mumbai refinery.
The refinery will co-process 5% used cooking oil in a 4,000-tonne-per-day kerosene hydrotreater, with commissioning targeted by the end of 2026.
The SAF produced is to be supplied to international flights.
The technology award was reported on Oct. 14, 2026, among a series of chemical industry project updates.
Co-processing renewable feedstocks in existing hydrotreaters is one route refiners are using to add SAF output without building dedicated stand-alone units.
