Transition Industries signs EPC deal for 210 MW electrolyzer at Pacifico Mexinol

Transition Industries LLC announced it signed a final engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Siemens Energy and Techint Engineering & Construction for an approximately 210 MW electrolyzer facility at the Pacifico Mexinol project in Sinaloa, Mexico.

The agreement follows the front-end engineering design contract announced in August 2025 and moves the green hydrogen facility from engineering toward construction, subject to customary conditions including completion of project financing.

The facility will use Siemens Energy's Elyzer P-300 electrolyzer technology to produce green hydrogen as renewable fuel of non-biological origin (RFNBO) for the Pacifico Mexinol ultra-low-carbon methanol complex, which has a capacity of 6,130 metric tons per day.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2027, and the project is scheduled to start operations in 2030. Siemens described it as its largest electrolyzer installation in the Americas.

At full operation, Pacifico Mexinol is expected to produce about 175,000 tons per year of RFNBO methanol, 175,000 tons per year of recycled carbon fuel methanol and 1.8 million tons per year of ultra-low-carbon methanol.
