The additions followed a six-week public consultation and consideration of responses on the identity and hazardous properties of the substances, according to the HSE as reported on October 21, 2026.
The nine entries include medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs), BTBPE, bis(4-chlorophenyl) sulphone (BCPS), bumetrizole, oligomerisation and alkylation reaction products of 2-phenylpropene and phenol (OAPP), a reaction mass of triphenylthiophosphate and tertiary butylated phenyl derivatives, O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothioate (TPPT), perfluoroheptanoic acid and its salts, and 4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol and its salts.
Inclusion triggers additional information and notification duties under UK REACH, including providing safety data sheets and communicating safe-use information for articles containing an SVHC above 0.1% by weight.
Companies must also notify HSE of substances in articles where the relevant conditions are met.
HSE said consultations on further Candidate List additions will be launched during the 2026-2027 operational year.
