Vinachem Director General Nguyen Huu Tu and Air Liquide Group Vice President M. Gert Jan Ten Cate exchanged the memorandum of understanding in Brussels on Oct. 22, 2026. The signing took place during a high-level dialogue between Vietnam's top leadership and European and Belgian business leaders.
The MOU covers improving energy efficiency, optimizing industrial production operations and promoting energy transition. The partners will also study upgrading air separation systems and argon recovery.
Both sides will exchange experience and examine cooperation in hydrogen, ammonia, low-carbon hydrogen and renewable hydrogen, targeting applications that reduce emissions in industry and the energy value chain.
To implement the agreement, Vinachem and Air Liquide plan to hold technical workshops, initially focused on priority issues at nitrogen fertilizer production facilities.
Air Liquide, one of the world's largest industrial gas groups, has operated in Vietnam for more than 25 years. Vinachem is Vietnam's state-owned chemicals group.
