Vinachem and Air Liquide sign MOU on energy efficiency and energy transition

The MOU was signed in Brussels on October 22, 2026 by Vinachem general director Nguyen Huu Tu and Air Liquide vice president M. Gert Jan Ten Cate, in the presence of Vietnam's top leadership during an official visit to the EU and Belgium.
The non-exclusive framework covers exchanges of information and assessment of opportunities to improve energy efficiency, operational reliability, industrial safety and business performance.
Priority areas include reviewing options to upgrade existing air separation units at fertiliser plants and studying the feasibility of argon recovery.
The two sides plan to expand discussion to industrial gas applications and technical solutions in electronics, batteries and accumulators; materials processing; mining and minerals processing; and battery production and recycling.
They also expressed interest in hydrogen, ammonia, low-carbon and renewable hydrogen cooperation aimed at emissions reductions in industry and the energy value chain, and in visiting Air Liquide R&D facilities in France and the ammonia cracking pilot and hydrogen facilities in the Antwerp-Bruges area of Belgium.
