Tianjin Yadong Longxing International Trade announced that from October 17, 2026 it would temporarily suspend quotations for H-acid, a core intermediate for reactive and acid dyes, with no date given for resumption.
H-acid prices had already risen to 200,000 yuan per tonne in September, according to ChemNet. The suspension created market panic as buyers lost a unified price reference and expectations of tighter spot supply grew.
Industry sources speculated the move could stem from plant maintenance, environmental controls causing spot shortages, or possible deliberate holding back of volumes to support prices. No reason was officially disclosed.
On the same day, Jiangsu Yabang Dyestuff issued a price adjustment notice raising multiple disperse dye grades, with Disperse Blue 60 powder set at 300 yuan/kg (300,000 yuan/tonne).
The report said downstream printing and dyeing mills face weak terminal demand and severe price competition, making it hard to pass on cost increases, and the volatility is expected to accelerate consolidation of outdated capacity.
