Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on 4 November 2026 that it received a letter of award from Indorama's Nigerian unit IF FZE for the Indorama Fertilizer Plant 4 project.
The plant will be built in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, with capacity for 2,300 tonnes per day of ammonia, 4,000 t/d of urea and 4,000 t/d of urea granulation. Daewoo will act as main contractor.
The contract value is about KRW 350 billion (roughly $250 million at current rates). Daewoo previously completed Indorama fertilizer plants 1, 2 and 3 and associated facilities, including feedstock reforming and power units.
Plant 3 was completed in late May 2026, with key milestones finished ahead of schedule, which the company cited as a factor in winning the follow-on work.
Daewoo has worked in Nigeria since 1983, completing 75 projects worth about $10.8 billion.
